Auxiliary fuel tank

Has anybody installed an auxilary fuel tank on their Tundra? I'm talking about one that mounts under the bed, not the type that sit under a crossover toolbox in the bed. With only a 20 gal. tank, I find myself looking for gas stations around every corner. It would be nice to have a little more range, especially when towing and the mileage drops to a little over 10 mpg.

Do any companies even make them?

I'm very happy with mine. Traveling accross country pulling a four horse gooseneck I have now have to find a pit stop more often than the truck. Easy install.

How many miles do you go on one tank of fuel? Unloaded and Loaded?

Auxilary fuel tank

Over 400 towing and almost 800 empty. For reason I can't explain I get 2 to 3 miles per gallon better here in the mountains, mileage drops off east of Denver.

Because Kansas puts ethanol in its fuel. I think up to 10% can be added and the pumps are not required to list it.

Auxilary fuel tank

I had the local repair shop install the tank. They said that they didn't incounter any problems.

The only "problem" is the range display isn't correct after the new tank installed; still calculates range based on the original tank size.
