Anybody got an idea why Toyota's attract rodents and how to prevent it? We have a Sequoia and Tundra. Both 2008 and 5.7L engines. The Sequoia was just at the dealership because the check engine and traction control lights came on. The dealer told us that rats had chewed through the knock sensor wiring under the intake manifold. Not believing the dealership I checked the Tundra when I got home and found evidence there also. We have had (and do have) a hand full of different cars (all not Toyota) parked in the same place with some of them months at a time between driving and never have had a problem with rats.
Seems Toyota's have something that attracts them since each of our current cars are driven daily and the location they seem to like to nest is right under the intake manifold. You know the top of the engine that gets up to 165 or more degrees when driven. Seems there must be a strong attractant for them to keep coming back and be so insistent. Also they are braving our outdoor hunter cat to get there. Hmmm maybe pest control companies should just drive Toyota's and park them over night at the customers house
