One tough truck!

Just got nailed yesterday in the rearend by a kid that for some reason thought I was still moving. Cop said he was probably going around 40 to 45 mph. I still can't believe the damage that was done to this kids car, I mean it's probably totaled. He hit almost dead center on the tow hitch of the truck, which is built into the frame of the Tundra, I don't really think the truck moved that much from what I remember. All I need is a new bumber and I'm good. I love this truck!!! Check out the picture.

DAMN! Do you have some photos of your truck? Do you keep a ball hitch in your receiver?

Here's a pic of the truck, just need a bumber, and no I didn't have a ball hitch in at the time, good thing I guess.

Cool, glad your ok and hopefully the other guy is as well. I think his car actually looks pretty good, crumpled up rather well. Hopefull that absorbed some of the shock for him.

I'd have your truck checked for frame damage and see if the frame is still aligned.

Oh yeah, that is the first thing I'm gonna have them look at. To the naked eye everything looked good, but we'll let the pro's make that decision.

I've actually been contemplating keeping the ball hitch in the receiver all the time such that if someone rear-ends me the hitch takes the force, instead of buckling the bumper into the quarter panels (seen that happen a couple times).

I think I might do that as well, just for some added protection.

Glad everyone's OK.

Not even a broken tail light? Nice. This needs to get spread around the internet some. It ought to help silence all the Ford and Chevy Tundra-hating fan boys. . .

Yeah, my wife thinks I'm crazy for not being sick about it being hit, I was more proud of how well it took the hit. One of the witnesses at the wreck came up and took one look and said "I know what kind of truck I'm getting next time". Made me stick my chest out a little.

probably no broken tailight because the car that hit the tundra didn't reach that high. good that your okay, is that a cavalier?

This is why I always kept a ball in my hitch (to help puncture any A-hole's radiator that deserved it!). But in this case, he hit it pretty hard.

Oh, and hello guys, long time no see!

Meh, its alright. I still miss both the trucks. I thought about purchasing another, but didn't - ended up buying an "old man's bike" instead. I miss chilling here with the guys - I feel that its mostly just a bunch of kids over on the Honda forums (and its killing me!) wanting to rice out their 8th gen Accords.

Hey, did you ever get your fog lights for your truck? I remember that we were going to meet up and install them, but money and distance where a factor. If not, I'll be heading out that way again sometime in October or early November...
