Box not straight on frame 09 DC

Was looking down the side of our 09 truck and noticed I could see more of the cab on the driver side. The box is actually over about 3/16" to the right, and the gap from box to cab is tighter on the driver side. So off to Toyota to look at 2010 trucks. Guess what, they were the same as mine. Is this a design to accomodate all the torque, or is it an oops at the factory? Suggestions? thank you

Mine was like this too. It's a factory f*ck up. Body shop removed the bed bolts, slid the bed over a bit and tightened it down again. Problem fixed.

I don't want to look at mine! If I notice it once, I'll notice it every time.

Interesting, I'll take a look at mine too.

Kind of off topic, but if you properly sit on the drivers seat, do you notice the steering wheel isn't actually straight across from you? I noticed the dashboard and steering wheel was off to the left. or am I being paranoid.

That's probably true, and it has to do with the steering column being able to meet up with steering rack/etc. Put it out of your mind.

Was at Toyota this week and the mechanic I know there loosened the 6 bed bolts, then we gave the front left corner a slight tug, and it was if the bed popped into place. It's perfect now. Took all of 5 minutes. Why doesn't Toyota do an adjustment at factory?
