Rear Sonar "always on" when in truck is in reverse

Folks,

Shortly after I got my 2008 truck off the dealer lot I noticed the sonars in the back were beeping when I put the truck in Reverse with no obstacles in the area.

At first it was intermittent, started a couple months after I got the truck, now the last 3 weeks it's permanent. Every time I put the truck in reverse it happens. Very annoying!!

I've had it to the dealer 2 times, they can't find the problem. They said they tested the sensors and also replaced the computer module that controls the sonars.

Has anyone encountered this problem? If so, please let us know what the solution was....thanks.

Rear sonars always on when in reverse

Has anyone else had the same problem here...the rear sonars are always on a constant beep sound when in reverse...it's very annoying so I end up turning it off now...but it would really help if it actually worked properly. If anyone had this problem and found the remedy, please do share Thanks!

I fixed mine. Even after countless times at the dealer, I decided to troubleshoot the issue myself.

It was one bad sonar, I moved the sonar to a different location and the problem followed the sonar. if I pressed hard on the face of the sonar it would stop. I took it back to the dealer and showed them and they replaced it, all has been good since.

Had the same issue. The fix for mine was to roll the front two senors to the back and the back to the front. Had the same problem in the front, so knew it was not a sensor. Disconnected the wire harness to one of the working back sensors and got the same error for the back, so surmised it was wiring.

Took and good, hard look at the wiring to each sensor and found where a rodent had crewed thru one of the wires. Easy fix to splice it and now all is well with the Sonar system.

I just bought a 2011 Tundra with the Sonar. 420 miles on it so far and
the Sonar started to emit a steady tone when going into reverse, even in the middle of nowhere. Then it stopped and has now become intermittent. Truck going to the dealer tomorrow for bunch of accessores to be put on and they are supposed to take a look at it..
