Dealership Ripping me off?

I am looking to buy a Tundra 4x4 CrewMax Limited Platinum Edition black on black.

They are telling me that the price they have is below MSRP Price and it is $47,587, and MSRP is 48,0687. They are not willing to work out a deal with me because I live in Alaska and they are the only dealership up here.

Here is what the sales person told me "You can not get the TMV of this truck because we are in Alaska, you must know that Alaska is different and everything cost more up here so the trucks cost more. This is a great deal because this is already below MSRP price."

Do you guys believe that is true or is this sales person just not the right one to talk to? He knows I want to buy a truck but hes not willing to negotiate a price with me and he keeps on bringing up that we live in Alaska and that his "bosses" will say no to all my offers and they are giving me the best deals...

Anyone has any ideas?

Price your truck online at toyota.com

They are not willing to work out a deal because they are offering you a truck below retail price, what price do you want to pay?

How far are you willing to travel and at what expense. Go online and locate a dealer outside of Alaska and get a price. After you get a price, is it worth your time and expense to travel and pickup the unit. Other option is another make.

You so did not get 17,000 off of sticker...come on man...was it that price after your trade in and money down?

There isnt a dealer desperate enough to lose that kind of money!!!

$17K off sticker smells a little fishy to me.

You can find dealer invoice online if you hunt hard. Some will even share it, my dealer just did. I'm buying one now for $1200 under invoice, plus $599 doc fee, plus tax, plus $3 lemon law and $21 title fee.

The sticker on my truck is just over $39K. Invoice is 36305.

Unfortunately, you'll have a hard time negotiating this without another dealership to work against your dealer. I worked four of them agianst each other to get the best price for me this week. Also, I'm taking 1.9%/60 financing over some bonus cash from Toyota.

True. But he could still get some dealers to work against each other if he is willing to take a plane trip and drive back.

Not my money, but I would consider looking for a slightly used one and get the Toyota Extended Warranty.

Good luck!
