Future Trucks, what will it be???

What do you think will happen to trucks in the USA in the next five years??
Will Tundra get Turbo Diesels, or hybrid?
Do you think Tacomas will still exist?
Have you heard about the A-bat?
MPG restrictions will keep increasing?
Will engines keep getting more powerful, more fuel efficient, or both?
Do you think you will buy a 6.0L Tundra if it comes out in 4 years?
It seems nowadays engine sizes on one side, and mpg efficiency on the other are just trends in the wallet of the beholder.......

I hope so on the diesel, especially if they introduce a 3/4 ton truck. I hope not on the hybrid.

Why, they will FLY!!!! Yeah, man! We will all have flying trucks! Weeeeeeeeeeee. Seriously, though, as long as they don't outlaw older vehicles, who cares! The whole truck/SUV craze started because people didn't to buy little POS front wheel drive cars. The mfgs knew that and skirted milage and other restrictions bu marketing trucks and SUV's to would be full sized RWD car buyers. So, when trucks start to suck you can just get an older one.

I would love to see a diesel Tundra! I'd have one of those for work in a heart beat! I don't think the Tacoma has any chance of going anywhere, anytime within the next ten years, it's just too good of a seller. All I'll say about the A-Bat thing is I hope they we're drunk and or joking when they let out the pics of that thing!

Yeah, there are Diesel Turbo Tacomas outside USA and they do just great,
I hope Toyota stops trying to upsize their trucks to compete with domestics unless its specifically for work trucks, and instead pay more attention to details on the Tacomas, putting more style on their design, because it doesnt look nearly as good as the Tundra design.
I think trucks should keep their squareness, like most domestics, when will toyota give up on boat round shaped fenders and sides? they are not meant to float you know....
well. lets not go the extreme opposite and make "alien skeechers shoe shaped Matrix" instead either....

I think the next Tundra will come with a diesel, considering Toyota bought a stake in Isuzu

I heard from a pretty reliable source at my dealer that the plan over the next few years is to offer the crewmax with a long bed and a diesel engine. The crewmax already has the same size cab space as a super duty f250. Only thing it is missing is the longer bed and a diesel engine. Can almost guarantee they will come out with this setup in the near future. Especially since they got the cab part (crewmax) down solid.
