Shift from 8 cyl to 6 cyl?

I was looking into getting a Tundra but i know most come with a v8. I want a V8 but i know i wont be towing that much you use all cyls. I heard that there is a way to switch the motor to 6cyl. Is this true? if so which models have this feature?

My 07 doesn't have that feature, maybe it's a gimmick on the new ones. I know some of the other brands have that "shut down mode" feature.

There is no such feature as "cylinder deactivation" on Tundra's. You got what you got....

TOYOTALIFER is correct. It's a V8 every moment of its life.

So, it's not a "Semi-Hemi"?

Yeah, just put the V6 engine into your truck bed and swap the engines whenever you want to.
