Considering an '11 Tundra - have some "options" questions

Hi guys. Looking for some info on the new Tundra....

I know that with many new cars now, you have to get this or that option before you can get this or that option, its crazy. I am wanting a 2011 2wd or 4wd (havent decided) red with beige cloth, Tundra SR5 double cab (with column shift automatic and the front bench seat, but I have only seen this configuration (column shift) in the non-SR5 models. ALL of the SR5 models I have seen are floor shift with bucket seats. Our local dealer has about 70 new Tundras not one SR5 has column shift, so wondering if any out there are like that? The sales brochure dont mention the bench seat not being available with the SR5 package.

I could live without the SR5 package, but its my understanding that in order to get the back up camera, you have to at least get the SR5 package.... at least thats best I can figure because out of all of the 70 '11 Tundras on our local dealers lot, that is how they are equipped. I didnt see any non-SR5 models with the back up camera.

Then I also want the factory navigation, but it looks like you have to get the top-level model (Platinum ?) to get the factory navigation. I dont know, I havent asked, but maybe if you paid for one in advance it can be special made for you?

I was also looking at the '11 Tacoma access cab 2wd. I wanted the SR5 package, but I really didnt want the leather wrapped steering wheel. Was also disappointed that you cant get column shift automatic, with front bench seat on the new Tacoma anymore, whereas you could on the 1995-2004 models (at least on the 2WD models). Also I dont think that navigation is available on the Tacoma? Thats not a big deal though, because you can always put your own in there. I think all SR5 Tacomas have the back up camera, so thats a plus.

basically here is what I want... a red with beige interior, NON SR5, 2011 Tundra, 5.7L with column shift automatic, bench seat, back up camera, navigation, (and of course the XM radio and blue-tooth which I have seen on the non-SR5 models), not sure yet if 2wd or 4wd, depends on the price. OR the SR5 package if I can get it with column shift automatic. Is it possible to get one optioned like this?

Thanks for any information.

I can tell you that if you want a Tundra grade (non SR5) with a column shift automatic, bench seat, etc., you will have to get the backup camera and Navigation aftermarket. Toyota doesn't allow those combinations of options.

You don't need the Platinum to get Navigation, you can get the Limited and still get factory Navigation. Also, as far as I know, if you go with the SR5 package, it automatically changes it to bucket seats and a floor shifter. However, you can get a bench seat with the column shifter in the Tundra Grade (not Work Truck package), and at least get the SR5 cloth.

I hate to hijack this thread, especially since I have not posted in a while, but I am also looking at Tundra regular cab 4x4's and was wondering if the regular cab suffered from the "bed bounce" that the double cab supposedly suffers from. I am currently looking at an 07 regular cab 4x4 sr5.

And does Toyota offer a leather bench seat like they did in the previous generation?

^No leather bench seat unless you go aftermarket leather.
