I searched the Tundra forum and couldn't find any past threads describing the process, but a Google search did turn up the following:

The side mirrors on your 2008 Toyota Tundra help you locate a trailer behind the truck, and also show you where other cars are on the road. In an accident, these mirrors can get damaged and may break off of the truck. To get back that visibility while driving, you'll need to replace the damaged mirrors with new ones, bringing back that safety feature. This process should take about 10 minutes to do per mirror.

Things You'll Need
3/8-inch ratchet and socket set
Replacement mirror

Difficulty: Easy

Instructions:

1. Open the door. Remove the triangle-shaped panel in the upper corner of the door by pulling it down from the top of the triangle.

2. Roll down the window. Unplug the power mirror harness by hand if you truck has power mirrors. Support the mirror in your hand while reaching inside the cab with your other hand. Unbolt the mirror from the door using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Slide the damaged mirror out of the door and discard it.

3. Slide the replacement mirror into the door. Support the mirror while bolting it in place using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Plug the mirror harnesses together if your truck has power mirrors. Push the triangular panel back onto the door until it snaps in place.

I'd recommend buying a factory service manual if you intend on doing this and other DIY work on your Tundra. Ebay should have some cheap copies to buy.
