hi, I installed the xm version. Is the kit worth it? I'd say yes. I explored this kit, vs a surface mount type, which is less costly, not hard wired and less integrated. I figured I wanted a more permanent integrated solution and selected the FI, and that solution is higher in cost. As far as the installation goes, if you are handy, logical, patient, and have common sense with wiring and parts, the installation does take about 3 hours and goes well. I will say that it seemed intimidating to pull apart your interior car panels, pull the radio out, see your car in pieces, trim disconnected, hook it up, then put everything back. (watch the DVD first, then you can tell if you can do it) Everything did go back together perfectly, and the radio works. I'm really glad I did it.
