Don't be silly. The woman was essentially dead. At any point all they
had to do is pull the plug and she would've expired. She was being
kept alive artificially in a right-wing-created purgatory of
megalomaniac self-righteousness.

Never mind what I would do, the fact was that her brain was about as
functional as an earthworm's nervous system -- except the earthworm
knows how to right itself. She couldn't even do that.

After all those years, I give the guy props for being able to go on
with his life. The woman he married is there for him at least. That
is his private decision, and thank god for that buddy
