Hey all, I'm looking for a Matrix XR (2006) and I'd love some feedback about Eastern Ontario dealerships. I'll start in Kingston cuz that's where I'm at but I'll definately move to another dealership if someone has suggestions. Thanks!

Belleville has a good dealership (just hearsay though), and I have personally dealt with Tony Graham in Ottawa for 2 new cars over the years. No horror stories, just the usual ignorant dealer attitudes regarding aftermarket parts, and creative thinkning when it comes to cross-model parts (i.e. Matrix parts on a Corolla, looking for specific items - getting the "It only comes as an assembly" bs). I talked them into free cruise on my 2005 Corolla CE SE 4yr lease. They actually installed it and the end price of the car and payment didn't change at all. I used my CarCostCanada.com pricing info to start them a little lower too.
Good luck !

I had no troubles with Gateway Toyota your local dealer in Kingston.
They matched another price quote that I had recieved from Toronto. As I was returning my Taurus off lease, I wanted them to have my car on the lot soonest as supply was low when I first ordered my car. 03 Corolla ordered in April 03 took delivery in June, the new body style only came out the month before
They ordered my car and had it ready for me for the date requested.
I could PM you the sales person that I dealt with If you would like.
Thanks for the advice! Yeah, I'm seriously considering going the carcostcanada route for a good place to start haggling. Im hoping to get them $1000 down from the list price (crossing fingers)
So, Kingston dealership says they have a VIN ident anti theft deal ($250!) that I can't opt out of it's part of the car. I'm not good with this at all and I'm considering hitting up Belleville or Brockville Toyota and see if they demand the same type of program.
The guy I'm dealing with "suggested" that they might not be as eager to work on a car not purchased from them...if you know what I mean. Talk about back alley attitude!
Anyway, thanks all. It's nice to know there are ppl out there who've "been there".

Yeah Orleans Toyota's price was more than Graham, but then Graham added thier "Theft ID pacakge & admin" crap. Made it equal to Orleans. So I told them I wanted free cruise. They did it ! Since it was a lease I was surprised too. I opted for the undercoat/paint and fabric protection (did that on my 92 Camry too - was worth it for that car - perfect body until this 05) so if I return it after the 4 yr lease, it should look brand new still. If I keep it, bonus for me

I can't think of anything I'd want them to throw in - hopefully I can get them to drop the price by 500 to cover the VIN crap (such crap!) and 250 for the hassle!
