my post editing isn't working and keeps seemingly timing out:
from my limited experience with them, Toyota of Sandy Springs seems legit. their shop guys are nice, but then again all dealership people act nice, right?
btw: do not go to
Louie Herron Toyota in Milledgeville. Those dudes (well, the guy named Eric in the shop, specifically) straight up lied like crazy to me (taking advantage of my then-and-still persistent lack of in-depth car knowledge) saying I had a whole list of problems wrong with my 2000 Camry LE:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/spre...R3TXc&hl=en_US (feel free to examine this spreadsheet. it's public to those who have the link, and I made it that way to share with y'all)
that's the list they wrote out for me and their prices. I put it into a spreadsheet of course, but I took my car (in Milledgeville), to a really honest, reliable, recommended place called C&R Transmission (they're great!) for a second opinion and they told me none of that stuff needed fixing.
whereas Toyota Milledgeville said my brakes were almost metal to/on metal, C&R said that my brakes looked "awesome" and they did some of the work for me anyways like the water pump, valve cover gasket, etc, but they told me they decided not to do the brakes and stuff (which I was ready to pay for, even) because they saw no reason to since my parts were all good anyways.
but long story short: if you're in Milledgeville, go to C&R Transmission. these guys are honest and have real integrity. they didn't accuse Toyota of Milledgeville of lying to me but left it at telling me all my stuff was, in reality, perfectly good.
the guy at Louie Herron Toyota though (Eric) was a slimebag. I hate to knock him like that but they purposely mislead me. I should've known though because they finished checking 'all that' in like an hour, which I was pretty amazed by because I would've thought that it should've taken a lot longer than an hour to check all those parts in a car. maybe I'm wrong on the timing, but Toyota of Milledgeville will never be getting my business again.
I don't know if that's a general policy at Louie Herron Toyota or if it was just the guy, Eric, whom I dealt with that was responsible for this nonsense, but either way I wasn't pleased.
p.s.: Toyota of Milledgeville also obviously didn't look at my map sensor and its vacuum tubing/hosing because the MAP sensor essentially failed a few months later and the hosing was all cracked and leaking to hell.
