I replaced my control arms and my stabilizer bar bushings 7000 miles ago with MOOG parts( toy parts). I needed to do work on my transmision, so I had to tear the front end apart again. I could not believe how bad the parts were . The stab-bar bushings were all cracked( looked worse than my 210000 mile toyota bushings ) and the control arm bushings were in the same condition( worse than my high milage toyota ones), also the holes where the control arms bolt to the ball joint were crushed / cut /distorted from the high torque(I alway use a torque wrench).MOOG parts are now known as toy parts. Ha Ha

This is just your case buddy. These parts are great. I have many Moog parts that are over 100'000km and they are all perfectly fine. They also are one of the best companies for keeping their word on life time warranty parts.
Interesting. sam333 - where did you source the MOOG replacement parts? I ordered some for end-links for my 2002 Corolla, but ended up returning them as they were just a a hair too long. Also ordered from other stuff by the quality looked a bit off.
I do agree that MOOG was a respected name in parts. But also remember that the company was recently acquired by Federal Mogul along with other big names like Fel-Pro and others in 2005-2006, and that Federal Mogul emerged transformed from a Chapter 11 in 2007. Dana used to be part of Federal Mogul, but I don't see them anymore on the website.
I think that lots of the brand names under Federal Mogul suffered as a result, so quality control may not be what it used to be. Factories are shifted, production are run through new countries - part of the global economy. Those end-links I got were only one example, compare their other suspension components to KYB, like upper strut mounts and spring bumpers - huge difference, MOOG looks like shiny, stiff plastic - KYBs were more flexible. A Chrysler 300 that my office manager drives - replaced both inner and outer tierod ends - both destroyed in less than 10K miles. But like they say, your mileage may very. Might be different for ones buying MOOG parts in Canada vs here in the US - different markets, different manufacturing plant.
I orderd the parts from Rockauto. I orderd the MOOG parts based on past experiences ( like what was said used to be high quality).
I didnt complain/ inform here just to be an ass, but to tell TN 8th gen corolla owners not to get ripped off / have problems by ordering parts from MOOG.
Interesting that you should mention fel-pro also. During my 1ZZ rebuild I ordered fell pro head bolts and could not use them because they were out of spec( too long and too narrow) AND they were so warped that they would not have been unusable anyway.
From now on ,unless I can find actual OEM parts cheaper, I will not use anything but Toyota parts.
Since Moog provides parts for any number of vehicles and is not specific to Corollas, I'm moving this thread to the Feedback: Buyers, Sellers, and Vendors forum so a larger body of people can comment. And, please, don't make the differences in opinion something personal...thanks!

Yeh right . This is where all the looney toon threads go.
Well this sux. I was just getting ready to buy from RockAuto the Moog stuff for my 02 Corolla. Last time I used Moog was about 4 years ago, and parts were great.
Now I need to research.
I guess if i cant find a quality product I will give the stealership a try.
If you can find who made the original( OEM) parts then you can order those and save alot , if you cant and have to buy from Toyota ,shop at a Toyota dealership on line and you will save quite a bit. Most of the online dealers will save you 20% or more.
Compare prices just watch shipping costs. I like Toyotapartscenter.net. Call them , and they will usually give you a better shipping rate than if you just order from them on line.
