Why not just get a block heater, warm the car for a minute and drive off slowly?

It sits in in your engine bay, next to the block. While you're sleeping warm and cozy in your bed, you plug the heater in and it keeps the block warm overnight, thus making startup easier in the morning. Call Toyota to see if they have one for your engine. There are universal ones avail too. Not sure how well they work though.

just cuz remote starters are so cool!!!

once I turned my car on from inside mcdonalds, and some old brown woman in a beat up old car beside mine looked like she saw a ghost....

heh...heh....(think brown accent here)...."In India, cars do not do!"

haha....

sorry....but as I was saying....um.....oh, yeah.....
it's pretty simple with an auto tranny, but with a standard, I think they make you keep the car in neutral, so you only have your parking brake to keep your car from rolling.....so I'm not sure if that's a good thing....

shops down here in so cal dont want to take on the responsibility of customers with manuel trannys. just because one time you can be in gear, you start the car it will jump, and will continue to jump until 6 tries. (depending on alarm co)

Not every starter has a Manual transmission option. I can tell you my shop is reliable but that's up to you, and now that I think about it. I don't even know where you're located??

Well even with a remote starter a car wont start during winter. In finland we use blockheaters, its a coil, like a portable water heater, drilled into the block at a certain tactical spot. You plug it in to the wall socket 30min-1hr before you plan to go out, it'll heat the coolant and heat the engine, making starting alot easier on the engine. I'd suggest you get one of these installed. As a plus, sometimes they pul an additional outlet inside your car, so you basically get the same current inside and can plug an in-car heater, for a warm cozy car ;-)
