painted (not vinyl) pinstripe removal

I'm purchasing a 2006 Matrix and it has a pinstripe I would like removed. I'm a little skeptical that it can be removed without damaging the clearcoat.

The dealer said it was painted on at the dealership where the car was originally. He sent a "flatbed" to pick it up, for which he didn't charge me. He also showed me a Sienna in the showroom that also had a painted pinstripe. Looked painted to me (I'm no expert though). The dealer said his detailing guy can take it off no problem and it will not compromise the clearcoat. I'm supposed to pick the car up on Monday with the understanding that for any reason if I can tell that the factory paint has been compromised, I can reject the car. The main thing I'm worried about is the integrity of the paint down the road. If it does compromise the clearcoat, will I be able to tell now?

What do you think?
