Tip Of the Day (4-15-06)

If you have some scratches in your glass you might be able to polish them out with a buffer. As some of you know, I was recently in a small fender bender and a metal street sign hit my truck. It also scratched the glass pretty good. You could certainly see it and feel it in the glass.

A new window is $250 plus the cost of installation. So I figured I'd try to polish it, but I didn't really expect to be able to totally fix it. With a 4" pad, some heavy cut polish, and some pressure on the pad I was able to totally remove the scratch in about 10 minutes. Saved myself $250. The scratch is totally gone. It's not just filled in or covered up.

You might want to look into doing this if you have some scratches on your windows, and access to a buffer.
