what I am talking about is how the tundra limiteds have a button that folds the side view mirrors in. The highlanders have power mirrors yes but they have to manually be folded in I haven't seen a button like the tundras for them. Thats just a pimp feature but none the less sweet.
I thought the Highlander had that button too. Are you sure it's not an option?
Either way, the Highlander has some cool stuff, like the seat cushion extender .

Not an option either. I checked our limiteds yesterday and the options sheet. the light under the side view mirror is cool, factory remote start as an option is nice, yeah the seat extender is cool and the fact the levers in the back actually push down the seats unlike the rav4. I don't think the third seat option in the middle is going to be very helpful for most people. In the end though it'll be a winner.
Anyone know when the 08 HL will be available in Washington State? And why is it available elsewhere now but not yet in the northwest??
From my understanding, in the next week or two all dealers should be getting at least one 08 Highlander on their lots. They are slowly coming in and in the weeks and months ahead they will be shipping in higher volume as Toyota ramps up production.
I went on the ride-n-drive here in florida where we salespeople compare the highlander to several other vehicles. There was one demo that was pretty compelling -- We took a Mazda CX9 on the road course and did a sharp turn at 25 mph. The stability control never kicked in and the wheels were screeching and chattering. The highlander took the same manuever with total control, the VSC did its job right away and made the turn about 15' tighter than the mazda. As far as most of the competition goes, the 08 seems like it will hold up well, but I'm hearing that the new hyundai veracruz is pretty strong (it was conspicuously absent from our seminar). We've sold our 1st highlander (a loaded limited) and we just got a Sport. I'm gonna take it out to see the diference in suspension.

We have our launch on monday in sonoma so I'm looking forward to seeing what they'll do there as We've always had them at the state fairgrounds here in sacramento. We sold our limited too as well as a base. We've got quite a few in now I'd say seven or eight I haven't driven the sport yet. I hear it rides a little rougher but handles better so we'll see.
all toyotas and lexus' take a more conservative approach to safety systems. in a way it kind of protects their reputation by having fewer cars in accidents, but it somewhat limits the potential of vehicles...although i have to say for an SUV/Minivan, its much better this way.
Also, the first dealership we went to said you cannot put a child carseat in the middle of the 2nd row. Then we went to another dealership and they said that you could.
I read the manual and there was no pictures of it, but there was a pic of a teather hook on the back of the middle seat. And then I read further in the manual and under the instructions of hooking up a car seat it said if putting a car seat in the center position of the 2nd row make sure that both chair backs are set to the same alignment...etc. So did that mean that you CAN put a car seat in the middle section of the 2nd row???

And is it possible to order a base model highlander with the 19 in wheels, sunroof and fog lamps?
Also, when I go to toyota.com to build a base model its says that it has a Towing Prep package...does that mean it has a tow package on it? I haven't see a tow package on any 08' Highlanders yet. What does that option mean?

All 08 highlander have the tow prep package as a standard option not the tow hitch. Prep package = upgraded radiator, transmission oil cooler, 130-amp alternator, trailer pre-wiring, 160-watt fan coupling. Hope that helps
So are you saying that they make the trailor package sound like they upgrade engine components which are actually standard on all vehicles and the only addition is a hitch and wiring harness? If that's the case I'm a happy camper since I was just wondering if I should have looked into it further before buying my Highlander this week. Adding a hitch is no big deal, changing the radiator and all that is another story.

Thats right Just add hitch and your ready to go and with 2008 you can tow up 5000lbs vs my 05 which has 3500lbs limit.
