Does anyone know if the new 2008 Highlander will have an available Auxillary port for MP3 players? It would truly be sad if Toyota left out this simple feature. I know I have seen it on the new Camry's but what about the 08' Highlander??

according to the pictures there will be.
i think most if not all 2008 models will have something of that sort.

i havent seen a picture of the aux port itself but if u just go on toyotas site and look at the audio system they now have an AUX button. I believe its the same button as CD.

The port in my wife's new RAV4 is in the console...don't know about the new Highlander, tho.

Yes it is has the aux port. I test drove one last week.

I"m pretty sure the aux port was by the console.

Also, the first dealership we went to said you cannot put a child carseat in the middle of the 2nd row. Then we went to another dealership and they said that you could.

I read the manual and there was no pictures of it, but there was a pic of a teather hook on the back of the middle seat. And then I read further in the manual and under the instructions of hooking up a car seat it said if putting a car seat in the center position of the 2nd row make sure that both chair backs are set to the same alignment...etc. So did that mean that you CAN put a car seat in the middle section of the 2nd row???

Can anyone verify for sure?

I just wish there was an actual ipod connector so you could control the ipod from the headunit.

Not for sure, but I would think if the tether is there, it would be there for a reason.

The 2008 Highlander Sport does have one AUX port located inside small compartment underneath center front console and behind the gear stick. This small, narrow compartment also has 12V plug and small shelf large enough for IPOD. We use AUX to plug in satellite radio and our IPOD, although satellite is used more often.

Anyone ever notice that in the brochure they show an Aux behind the 2nd row seats. Maybe I'm losing it but...I don't see that in my vehicle..
