Thei interesting part is it seems it is only offered in Canda not the USA

My current 06 RAV4 had to get side moldings via a Victoria, BC dealership.
They were not offered in the USA

Seems those of you north of our border get a few more goodies than we do.

The RAV4 will become a HL Limited in December.

I don't really understand how Toyota decides to offer what to whom, but presumably people smarter than me are involved

Our choices in Canada in terms of trim levels and options for Toyota vehicles are, generally speaking, limited, but not in all areas. Either way, The HL Limited is a very impressive vehicle. Style may be subjective, but mechanics are not. This is a very well designed, solid and refined SUV. I am very please with my purchase - so much so that I almost feel sorry for those I see driving other new (lesser) SUVs on the road!

The multi function display is interesting. It shows you your average mpg as a number and the real time mpg as a sliding bar

It also displays multiple average mpg readings for several fillups.

As the Highlander has a lot in common with the Camry, I though Toyota could have used the same hydraulic assist on the hood like they have on the Camry.

The gauges for RPM and MPH are a bit busy for my taste but I guess you get used to it.
Did you by any chance see if the average mpg can be reset manually? I could on my '02 but on my '06 HL it only resets when you fill up the tank. A step backwards in my opinion.

Looks like you can...Per the owners manual....

Quote:
Average fuel consumption displays the average fuel consumption since the function was reset

This function can be reset by pressing the “DISP” button for longer than one second when the average fuel consumption is displayed.

When the function is reset, the previous five average fuel consumption values will automatically be displayed for six seconds.

Yes, you can, by pressing the display control button on the steering wheel. In Canada it is in L/100km though, and unlike the instrumentation on my Sienna it unfortunately does not allow you to switch between metric and imperial.

Whatever trim line you get, the leather seats are much more comfortable than the cloth. I have pinched nerves to prove it.

hey... i have been condidering an 08 HL Limited so i have alot of info on the vehicle... the spare to the best of my knowledge is under the car... and for my two-cents, i love the re-styled fascia. I think it has a better look than the older ones and the 19s make the exterior fall together... the interior is like the RX cousin and i am impressed by the gas mileage. The only thing that i can think of that would bug me would be the all-or-nothing 3rd seat. Other than that, i love the car... cant wait to buy one!
