20" Wheels on 2008 Highlander

I posted a few pics of my 2008 Highlander Sport in the Gallery. The stock 19" wheels look pretty good, but I went ahead and upgraded to some aftermarket chrome wheels to give it that personalized look.

I went with Niche 20x8.5 wheels with a 34mm offset, and 275/45R20 tires. The factory wheels were 19x7.5 with a 35mm offset. The new wheels & tires tuck nicely under the fenders and there is no rubbing whatsoever.

The bolt pattern for the 2008's are the same as they were in the prior generation Highlanders, but the Niche wheels use a different kind of lug nut that requires more stud to be sticking through the wheel. As such, I ended up replacing all 20 studs with longer ones to provide enough threads to get a good solid bite with the lugs.

The TPMS sensors were moved from the stock wheels to the Neche wheels and they work just fine.

Who's next ? Let's see some more PICS !

Definitely my opinion, so take it for what it's worth, but I think the stock wheels looked better. Maybe it's the thin spokes....look a little feminine to me.

My opinion though - whatever floats your boat!

I agree with mwfromva. I also think the stock wheels look better. Everyone has their own taste. Nice looking vehicle. I also purchased one 2 months ago in Blizzard Pearl. I'm gonna try to post some pictures in here soon. As soon as I figure out how to do it.

I agree with the rest, the stocks looks better. Your new rims now shows a lot of your disc brakes, it would look better if you had Brembo calipers and slotted rotors on there to show it off. Your rims would probably look good in a Porsche Cayenne since they have a nice looking Brake calipers. That's just my opinion. Nice Highlander though!

USA

I am planning to test drive a 2008 Highlander this morning. I have been looking for a Limited AWD , they are hard to come by here in Florida.
Does anyone have any opinions about the new HH ??
Thank you

Looks good.....

Everyone has different taste, all that matters is that you like them. I think if you add the black running boards and chrome the roof rails it would look great. Enjoy your new Highlander.

I think they look very good. And I agree that as long as you like them, that's all that should matter.

so did you calculate the speedometer difference before the swap??

What size tires did you use on the 20's?
