I just purchased an 08 HL limited and wondering if anyone has put on the running boards

I just put mine on for my 2008 Highlander last month. I had some help with a friend of mine to help install. It took us couple of hours to install it. But, it was well worth it. It gives the truck a more beefier look. I'm trying to post some pictures in here but still not successful. Still trying to figure out how to post pictures in here. If anyone know how, please let me know. BTW, did you purchase the factory running boards? I purchased mine from www.toyotapart.com. I could have gotten a better deal elsewhere but was in a rush to purchase. If you're interested in other accessories I can give you a Toyota website that I find has the cheapest prices so far. I would like that toyota website because I did not buy them yet. I am waiting for a quote on Monday from my local dealer.

pch316 found a good Toyota site for parts, they have many 08 HL parts not listed anywhere else, Thanks www.trdparts4u.com

i have them and they are very nice. brushed aluminum semi-tube shaped with black steps.

I just purchased a 2011 HL. I've read somewhere that installing running board impacts MPG. Can anyone validate that? How much do you think it will impact?

I can't think that could make much impact at all but I do think the HL looks a bit naked. The HL is not a real high off the ground car so the running board or Nerf step is more of a show thing. I wanted something so I just added last week the blizzard white mud-flaps. It just breaks the stark line. I'll post a photo next week, they look good. Not the same large impact that the Nerf-bar or running boards but it did make some visual difference as well as some practical purpose.

I noticed zero change in MPG when I installed my Nerf bars.
