How To Post Pictures

Join http://photobucket.com/ its fast and free.

After you join Photobucket you can uplaod your pictures from your computer to Photobucket. After the images are downloaded they will assign four links, EMail & IM, Direct Link, HTML tag, and IMG code.

The IMG code is the easiest to use. Just right click on the IMG URL tag and it will say copied. Now when you are posting in a thread just right click again and left click on paste. The link will be displayed, not the picture. To see the picture before you post hit the Preview Post button and voila, you have pictures.

Another way with Photobucket is right click on the direct link. This link can be used to re-direct a user to the image on your Photobucket page. Also the direct link can be used to post pictures here. Hit the
button, insert the direct link and the picture will appear without hitting the preview post button.

I have noticed a lot of people are posting full size images. Here are two very simple ways of resizing. For this forum I would recommend resizing to 400X400 or 500X500 for ease of viewing.

If you have windows xp you can use the XP image resizer. Below is the link for instructions and to download.. just click on Image resizer in the first paragraph.

My wife uses Vista. Unfortunately Vista doesn't have a power tool. Fortunately there is one available that has the same functionality as the one above. It is good with windows 2000, windows xp, and vista. You can download here:

Linking With Flickr

If you use Flickr here are the instructions for linking to a photo that I found and used:

BEGIN Quote:

How do I get the URL of a photo?

To use the URL of a photo (like when you add a photo to your Blogger profile), you must provide the web address (URL) of the image itself, not the address of the web page where the image is displayed.
Here's an example of a correct URL for a photo. Note the .jpg at the end:
Here's an example of an incorrect URL for a photo. It points to the web page where the image is displayed, not the image file itself. Notice there's no .jpg at the end.
(Click both of these links to see the difference.)
To get the URL of the actual image file, find the photo you want to use. Click the "All Sizes" button above it and select the size you want. If the photo is yours, two text fields appear below the photo. The first contains a snippet of HTML that will produce the photo on your web site, with a link back to the photo page on Flickr. The second contains the URL of the image itself. Simply copy and paste the one you want into your web site.
If the photo isn't yours, you may not be able to access the Different Sizes page (if the owner doesn't allow downloads of the photo).

END Quote.

I did a Help Search for "Linking to Photos" to find the instructions. Please note that you can resize the photo for posting in the same step...
