Has anyone custom ordered or preferenced a Highlander?
Hi. This is my first post here.
My wife and I are looking to order a Highlander Sport AWD. We want to order because of the specific option combination we're after. The options are Nav, alarm, cold weather, auto climate, 3rd row delete, leather and tow package. Nothing on the lots is similar.
Does anyone know how long it will take? How was the experience?
I ordered several port installed options (Towing Hitch, roof rack rails) and deleted the carpet mats as I prefer WeatherTech mats in my SUV's
The dealer "gave" me their cost so it was cheaper than getting the towing hitch and cable and doing it myself. The hitch and wiring (required to connect to the tow prep wire that is installed) was $659 List price at the port and I was able to get both installed for $480 as part of the order.
The order code was DH for the hitch/wire harness
I also ordered the C7 package that includes the roof rack cross rails, chrome exhaust tip and mud guards. List was $397 and I paid $252.

Do you have pictures of the trailer hitch installed. The Toyota installed hitch is supposed to look different than the after market hitch.
The Toyota hitch replaces the center piece on the bumper and is tucked up so that only a small portion is visable.
Here are two links to the installation procedures for the hitch and wiring.
The hitch procedure shows you the molding lower fascia that gets replaced. It has a cut out for the receiver and four wire plug.
All of the rest of the hitch is hidden unlike most after market hitches
We put a deposit down in late August, the request was put in the first week of September. It was accepted by Toyota the End of September or beg of October, and we took delivery the 12 of November. Blizzard Pearl Limited 4wd, with NAV, DVD, Moonroof, heated seats, Lift gate, rear AC control, towing prep.
Opps = Summerwind has been a great help - However, I was giving him credit for the picture that PLamarine posted so I stand corrected and also thanksto PLamarine
