08 Highlander Sport - Hi-Beam Problem

Hello,

I have noticed now that several times while driving the Highlander, when I am using Hi-Beams and then switch to Lo-Beam, the car automatically switches between Hi-Beam and Lo-Beam, as if someone is flipping a switch on/off, on/off. While this is happening the stick (the one with the lights, turn indicators, Hi-Beam operation, etc.) is firmly in the Lo-Beam position.

The only way to get it to stop doing this is to put the stick back into Hi-Beam position and then bring it back to Lo-Beam position.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I wonder if the accelerator problem is really electrical and this is another electrical problem.

hmmm

I've used my HB and have not notice that problem before. I'll play with it tonight if I take the HL out to go somewhere.

"Earier, Lahood said he plans to speak with Toyota President Akio Toyoda about the automaker's spate of recalls in the United States. LaHood confirms that the government is investigating potential electrical problems in Toyota vehicles."

LaHood is from the NHTSA.

Had the cruise control switch fall apart in a new Camry once.

Replace the headlight stalk/switch and test any relays related to the lighting system. Something is sticking and I bet its from the ketchup or sugar from those eating/drinking driving episodes.

Tried and mine works fine. Turned on HB and then turn it back to LB and it stayed in LBeam.
