Well 2 hours after I dropped it off they called me and said they installed the new radio, but the display didn't work, so they were putting the old one back in and I could come and pick it up, and they would order yet another one. So I go pick it up, and driving home I notice all my pre sets are still there, as well as my audio settings.
Now if they had this radio removed from the car, wouldn't all the memory be wiped out? I am suspecting someone messed up and they didn't want to admit it and piss me off, since I wasted a half day for nothing.

I'm assuming yes. If you disconnect the battery it clears your pre-sets, the dealer would have to disconnect the old radio, and connect the new one. I would think that disconnecting the power to the radio would have the same effect as disconnecting the power to the whole car. NOW, you could have a very caring dealer who wrote down all of your pre-sets, and then programmed them back for you. I doubt it.
