hello all i have an 08 highlander front wheel drive with bridgstone dueller tire on it the other day i was driving in some cold slushy weather and every time i went to brake the car chatered badly like one front wheel was locking up and the other one wasn't this is my first front wheel car.Just wondering if this the way it is, on dry pavement they work fine. could it be the tires or brakes or both? anyone had the same experiance thanks

From what you describe it sounds like your ABS is activating. The wheels chatter and the pedal pulses when the ABS kicks in.

+1 Sounds to me like ABS was kicking in. Sometimes when it happens it can startle you.
