noisy power steering?

does anyone have their power steering make a bit of a squelling noise when turning the wheel to the extremes in a tight spot? mine does pretty regularly and am wondering if this is just a normal noise at the extremes

I've never encountered it, thank goodness. Power steering noises/screeches are like fingernails on a chalkboard.

If you turn the steering wheel really fast or fully lock the wheel to one side and hold it it will squeak/whine from the electronic assist. Mine does it.

My father taught me not to ride the locks when turning, but to back off a fraction to reduce stress on the parts. He was a state trooper and then a safety engineer for trucking companies and his advice has always been good through the years. Still is, but he's 88 and can't hear the questions too well some days.

To answer the question, the squealing isn't normal, but it's fairly common.
