Factory running boards, 2 questions

I recently purchased a new (leftover) '09 Highlander Sport, has only 2200 miles. It came with the black factory installed running boards.

I have two questions:
One, can they be removed easily, and if so, will the vehicle look as though they had never been installed? (In other words, was there any modification done to the body in order to make the running boards fit?)

Two, if removed, is there a market on this forum for used running boards?

Thanks,
Jim G

Yes, Jim. You can post to one of three forums in the Truck Parts For Sale, Trade, and Wanted forum, depending on which one suits your needs the best.

If they are in good condition I would be interested in purchasing the running boards. Please let me know asap.

Thanks,

Drew

Still need info

Thanks, Drew, but I'm still trying to find out if the body will look OK when the running boards are removed, i.e, was any modification made to the body to install the running boards.
I'll let you know.

The running boards hook onto the frame on the underside of the car. If you took them off your car would require no additional work to make it look "normal". You basically just have to unbolt the running boards and take them off.

Let me kown when you find out.

Thanks

I think you will lose the larger bolts in the frame when you unbolt them. I can see them easily falling in so be careful if you plan to resell them.
