Foot firmly on brake - brake pedal fall to floor...

My wife said that this has happened to her on several occasions, and it just doesn't make sense to me. She said on several occasions, while waiting in the line to pick up our daughter from school, her foot is firmly on the brake pedal and that the pedal begins descending all the way to the floor - yet the vehicle does not move. I've driven it many, many times, and never experienced this.

Has anyone observed this issue before? I'm taking the HiHY in for service next week, so I plan to have them look at it.

Perhaps this is happening when the A/C is on. Again, every vehicle I've ever owned does that when the A/C compressor kicks in. The pedal doesn't drop to the floor, but it will descend noticeably under your foot. Not calling you wife a liar, but perhaps she's exaggerating the depth to which the pedal descends if you see what I mean? And even in winder if the HL is in either defrost mode the A/C will run automatically.

Good idea, I guess that makes sense and it is very possible that the wife is exaggerating a bit too - she's a woman I'll give this a test when I get home tonight.

Cool, I'm glad you didn't take the suggestion the wrong way. Let us know what happens when you test it out later.
