That's funny how the dealer claims it's a safety feature. When I got my HL the beeper was turned off, I went back to the dealer and got them to switch it back on. I like having it on because that way I know if my HL is locked or unlocked (one beep or two). That's just preference for me, but it proves the dealer CAN turn it off and if it was such a "safety feature" a new car wouldn't be delivered with it switched off.
Try a different dealer, I'm sure somebody will switch it off for you. Try telling them you live in an apartment and people are complaining about you locking your car doors at night because your parking spot is close to their bedroom window and they have to be up at 3:30 in the morning to go to work. I know, it's complete bull but whatever works!

Doesn't the lights flashes when you lock/unlock? Plus you can hear door locks even from 20ft away. I didn't know you could turn it off until this thread. Personally, I like it silence as I don't want people to know I'm exiting or coming to my car.

Agree
The turn signal lights still flash when the buzzer is turned off.
If it was such a safety issue you would not have a custom setting to change it.
Sounds like the dealer you are dealing with does not have the technical knowledge to make custom settings changes via the Techstream computer.
I had this experience when I wanted the key fob buttons to be changed to open all doors with one press. The dealer I bought it from stated it can't be done and after I showed them the info on what can be changed an how it was done I got the answer "leave my car all day and they would try to figure it out" ...wrong answer.
Dealer number two said " sure we can do it while you wait and 30 minutes later I drove off with the change done.
I have also went back and had them change the auto headlights off setting from 30 seconds to 0 seconds so the lights go off when I open the drivers door
Needless to say dealer number two now services my car.

I would say it would be under the plastic inner fender drivers side. It should be a little brown unit.
Thank you very much Chan Chan Man.
I stuck a small digital camera into the opening at the front of the fender well, and there it was.
Being an old geezer with bad hearing, I could not locate it by ear.
Once again , thank you.
