08 Highlander Starter grinding

Withing the last 2-3 weeks, when our engine is started it sounds as though the starter is grinding, but it has started every single time and the grinding sound starts at the very end of the starting process.

I am out of warranty as the starter is not part of the engine apparently and I have 48,000 miles on it. Any help before my wife gets stranded or more damage is done?

ALSO... in response to the ARM RESTS POPPING. My dealership likes to act surprised and that they have never had one do that before and then I could the manager in a double talk/double take when he said he sent a few panels to an uphosterer and had the THIN plastic reenforced with fiberglass and metal for $100 each.
*This is a poor flaw and would be a classic "Process of manufacturing" case study because it doesn't start to show unless it is used alot and even when it does happen, most people are / will be out of warranty anyway and pass it off as NORMAL WEAR and TEAR...It is not! and A new Door panel is designed the same way.

I even called JMFAMILY in Florida because my area sales manager thinks paying for 2 of the 4 doors will suffice. I won't him to pay for all 4 doors.

*Also the cylinder shaped air vents near the ceiling about the back row and mid row has a plastic pierce that breaks way to easily. I have 2 of 4 broken.

My Kids are barely allowed to move in this car for fear something more may break.

Do you drive a lot of short trips (under ten miles). If so, take the Lander for a good family drive and see if the starter still gives you problems. Best case scenario is that it's a bad ground, or electrical connection that's come loose.

Don't forget to try another dealer, and explain the problems. Generally the larger the dealer the better, as they'll have more knowledge of more problems and can more than likely offer you a solution, or at least investigate the problems.
