I've been reading about people purchasing the SE and just curious about when it came out, why there was a need to release a new model and what are the diff between the SE and the Ltd or Sport? If you own an SE, what features made you choose this model? Thanks.

SE = Special Edition (Not Sport edition like others) released in 2010.
I guess, some of the options (for examples packages are regional).
In mine, I got Blue tooth option, cross-bars, mud guards, back up camera in the small screen, fog lights, leather seats (1st and 2nd row only, 3rd is vinyl), 17 inch alloy wheels, automatic temperature control, steering wheel buttons, 6 DC player (non-JBL).
FYI: SE model is expensive than sport. You can see it on Toyota's website as well.
Basically a Limited with lower quality leather, drivers side power seat has less control, and it only comes with the standard, non-jbl, stereo.
There are no factory options, just a few dealer options. You can't get Nav or power lift gate but it does come standard with towing prep.
Any dealer options like bluetooth or larger wheel package must be purchased at the dealer. In addition, the bluetooth is not the same as the one integrated into the steering wheel.

I test drove a sport, SE, and Limited over the weekend. The SE had the softest ride, the Limited was next and the Sport was the firmest.
If you look at the Features on Toyota's web site:
SE has the base/Limited springs/struts and 245/65/17 tires
Limited gets a firmer ride from the 19" wheels
Sport gets firmer springs/struts and 19" wheels

The SE was not out when I bought my Sport. Even so I would buy a Sport again because I wanted the stiffer/firmer ride.

Hi, we just bought a 2010 SE AWD model. Where did you get your OEM remote starter? We live in Seattle, so, remote starter will be very helpful in cold weather.
I am also looking for a running board for it too. I saw on on autoanything.com. Any recommendation?
SE had all the features i was looking for on top of base:
- Digital Temperature control
- Leather seats
- Moon roof
- Backup camera
It was best bang for buck for me.
Same with me...SE had jsut about exactly what I wanted (triple temp control, leather/htd seats, 17" wheels, Tow prep, good basic stereo, backup camera, moonrof) and nothing I didn't want (19" wheels, fancy stereo, wood trim), it was the best value for me, and the 5 yr/0% + 2 year maintenance was icing on the cake
