questions about new wheels for the new highlander: ideas needed!

my wife wants some new chrome rims for her new highlander.

if anyone has done this, i'd appreciate pics or links.
also, was considering putting larger rims on like 22"?
vs the 19" stock

but that would mean changing tires.
so would that compromise the ride?
or can you get the same sidewall height in 22"?

any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

this will be the first time we've ever upgraded rims/tires.
thanks in advance!

YOu will definitely not be able to get same sidewall height when moving to a +3 wheel size. Ride will definitely be compromised on anything moving to a wheel that big...but it will look good if you find the right wheel. Luckily you live in socal where the weather keeps the streets a bit nicer than in the snow belt region. Post some ideas of what wheels you are choosing.

well, she isnt 100% on the 22's, thats why i'm asking and she's curious.
she definitely wants the same quality ride.

so would 20's be a reasonable compromise?
but she does want some nice chrome rims.

definitely no worries about snow.
thanks

chrome your stock wheels. I think the 19" stocks look great. I wish i had stock 19's...kinda. You can go with whatever you like. If you are going with a wheel with a lip, 20's might look a bit smaller than stock, if you go with 22's, you will feel the road a lot more due to less tire between road and car.

***If anyone reads this and wants stock 17's with 6k miles in trade for their stock 19's, i am interested. I am in NJ near Delaware. ****sorry for thread hijack.

If you go larger wheels then you'll need larger tires if she wants the same quality ride. But if you go larger tires/wheels, you'll probably have some rubbing issues in which case you'll need to get a minor suspension lift to clear that wheel/tire combo.
