Yeh, my fuel consumption is high for a 4cylinder considering my driving habits. EPA calculation is 20mpg all in-city for a 4 banger.

Working on that though, it is now sitting in the garage with the battery disconnected for the past 40 hours or so to hopefully reset the engine maps.

I am going to drive that again and recalculate the mpg.

Yeah, I'd say something is wrong. If the reset of the ECU doesn't work I'd have it looked at by the dealer.

I'm getting 22+ in mixed city/hwy with a V6/4WD Sport and I've hammered the throttle a couple times every time I've driven it. I've only got 1000 miles on mine so far though.

Good luck,

Chris

i am just now hitting 20 after 6k miles. I crept up from 18 to 19 to 20 very slowly. I am thinking it is the warmer weather. I am hoping it jumps once summer gas gets here. I was hoping for 22 or so all year but I am unsure if it will happen.

I dont drive it hard, I work 12 miles from my home, all country back roads with only 2 stops or so if I hit a light. We do use it run our family errands so I am sure that isnt helping but I am still hoping it improves. all in all though, it has been great.

anyone here notice the digital read-out are a bit on the optimistic side, or it might just be my highlander. so it is best to do a classic calculation of filled and divid by miliage traveled, this will give an accurate reading.

The digital readout is optimistic by 8-10%
