Having some options installed Friday on HL 10

I just made an appointment to have running boards, body moulding, and mud flaps installed this Friday on my 10 H/L and a bit excited about it. Used to be a time I would do it all myself but getting tired of it so I thought I'd pay and have it done, and hopefully done right.

BTW, I've had my new vehicle about a week now and I love it!

wow what a day. I worked night shift last night and went to the dealer at 7 this morning. They took me in. A few hours go by and they say, about another hour, lets go look. We go to the bay and nothing has been installed yet. The techs are puzzled on how to do the install. (i begin to shake) a few more hours go by and still nothing. I'm crashing big time now. so they give me a ride to the mall and I eat, sleep , drink etc. A few hours later they call me at the mall and ask if they can keep it overnight. I say huh?

I get back to the shop and one running board has been installed. (7 hours) But it looks odd. The tail end of the board is about 2 inches lower than the front and they said thats how it supposed to be according to the template.

Question: Is this how its supposed to be? The tail end lower than the front? I dont like it.

Back to the story. The tech tells me that tacoma and tundra boards bolt right to the frame. On the H/L you must drill your own holes using a template. So if you're considering installing yourself, it may take some time.

On the flip side, I'm getting a 10% discount for my troubles. Gave me a free loaner car too and that was cool

Feedback from folks with factory running boards appreciated before I go back tomorrow and get my ride. I want to have my facts straight

THanks to all!

I wound up making the fix myself. I simply unbolted the running boards and drilled a new hole as needed and think it looks a whole lot better. Better than spending another day at the dealer too! I'll try to post some photos Sunday of the running boards, moulding and mud flaps.

That's sad they couldn't figure it out but after checking out the instructions in the DIY area here I can see why it's harder than normal. I had an '05 Trailblazer that I did it myself becuase the holes were pre-drilled. I just had to find a way to keep them hosted up while I installed them which I did with some empty plastic scoopable kitty litter containers. The difference again being the vehicle had a full frame.

I also have to say it's sad when owners of vehicles (me included) worry about a dealership service department getting an install right without any issues.
