Rear rubber cargo mat comes in 2 pieces?

I was a bit surpised today when I opened the shipping carton and saw the rear rubber cargo mat for my 2010 H/L was a 2 piece. Is this normal? Seems odd to me because it doesnt provide a complete one piece seal like I imagined it would.

Thanks in advance

Scott

i have it to and didnt like it. It works fine but I would like a one piece. I might just buy a carpeted one in the future.

aftermarket rubber mat

i bought an aftermarket rubber cargo mat and it is one piece
and it has a lip around it so water won't spill over the edges.
maybe you could return the toyo one and buy an aftermarket?

Truth

Although, it would be nice if they offered two different options; with or without 3rd row. It's not like Toyota actually makes them anyway. Buy from WeatherTech and rebadge.

most HL's have the 3rd row - hence only one type for simplication.

I use my HL to carry my glow powered R/C planes. Glow fuel contains castor oil and will stain anything it touches. Even when I wipe the planes down there are always little drips here and there.

I looked around for a couple weeks for a cargo liner and some way of protecting the 2nd row seats when they are down. I finally decided that nobody made what I wanted. So, yesterday I went to a carpet remants store and bought some heavy duty commercial carpet that is rubber backed for $40. I used the factory cargo mat as a template for the area behind the 2nd row and then cut a piece that completely covers the 2nd row and has a 6" overlap with the rear cover. It won't keep fluids from spilling over the sides, but that isn't a concern for me. I did this for my Blazer that the HL replaced and it worked out very well. The carpet I found is Grey wth White, Black and Olive mixed in. It actually matches the Ash/Black interior in my HL pretty well.

No problem. I was curious to see how you did that. I always like to see the specialty work people put into their vehicles. Cool!

Newbee here,

Hmmm, Mine is a Toyota one piece...a bit of a pain with the third row up, but it sure protects the cargo floor.

Very, very nice! You've given me an idea for a project I may do with my HL. I get so freaking tired of dirt and debris falling down behind the 2nd row seats and also the 2nd row console when I'm hauling gardening stuff or when I'm camping. That would make clean up so much easier. Thanks.
