10 Highlander Limited - XM installed, now microphone doesn't work

Hi - I just bought a new '10 Highlander Limited (w/ NAV) last week, and took it to the dealer today to have XM installed. As I was driving the vehicle home, I noticed that the bluetooth would pair with my phone, however the microphone did not work. Everything was working properly prior to having the SAT Radio installed...does anyone know what might be going on here?

I'll need to take the car back to get this issue fixed, but wanted to see if this might be setting related.

On another note, I saw a thread on this forum for adjusting the microphone volume for bluetooth (where you hold the INFO button, and toggle the headlights from OFF to AUTO 3 times). I tried raising the volume to +2, but no luck. I did notice on the main screen that my AVN (?) was reporting an error? Does this mean anything?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

I would put money it that when installing the xm, the microphone became unplugged from its kit (if possible) and simply needs to be reconnected.

Thanks, Jimmie. Do they have to disassemble the dash again to get to the head unit?

yes they would, but i really do not know where the mic ties into your bluetooth system. But my thinking is that if it was working fine before and now nothing, it is normally the simplest mistake and should be fixed quite easily

Just got the car back from the dealer. In addition to the microphone not working, my backup camera also was out. The tech checked the wiring harness coming from the head unit, and apparently one of the ground pins was pushed in too far. He pulled the ground pin back into place, and everything worked fine.

It always boils down to something really small, doesn't it?

Thanks, again, for your help.
