Question Bluetooth: Buzz/whine from speaker when making a call

Hello,

I've had my 2010 HL Sport for a couple weeks. So far I'm pretty happy with it, but I'm not that impressed with the Bluetooth. When I'm making a call I get a whining noise from the speakers, kind of like alternator noise in a radio. I have the Non NAV JBL stereo.

Do any of you have this problem? I plan to ask the dealer to look at it when I take it in for my initial service.

Thanks,

Chris

I have the 09 Sport with the non Nav JBL and also experience the whining issue. Also, there seems to be a delay when talking on the phone via bluetooth over the mic and listening over the speakers.
I've turned bluetooth off on my phone.

I wonder if it's phone specific. I'm definately going to have the dealer look into it.

Thanks for the reply,

Chris

It could be phone specific. You might want to try turning down the bluetooth mic volume though. You can find instructions in the bluetooth FAQ thread. You might be hearing feedback through the speakers.

Here's a tip: Point the air conditioner vents in the center of the dash downards. The blowing air runs across the mic which is located on the upper/overhead console. Anther trick is to lower/open the "kids review view mirror". That will block/deflect the air flow around the mic.

The calls are much clearer if you perform one or the other of these two.

I don't think it's a mic problem, but I will try your tips.

I noticed that when I set the radio to the AUX input and the DVD player isn't powered on I can hear alternator noise too. So, I think there's a loose ground or something.

Thanks,

Chris
