How to??

Hi All,

Could somebody help suggest or direct how to the following:

1. Change time,

2. Change Temperature to degrees fahrenheit to degrees celsius,

3. CD Disc selection: changing/choosing which CD should play,

4. Instant gas mileage green bar to number displayed instant gas mileage like in Rav4.

Forgive me: I did not read the Toyota manual properly and also here.

Many thanks

You really need to give more info on the vehicle you have...year, trimline, Nav or no Nav, etc., but I will give this a shot:

Change time - If you have the MFD (Multi-Function Display), you hold down the DISP button on the steering wheel and follow the instructions. If you have just the clock (no MFD), you just hold down the hour or minute button (I think - I have the MFD).

Change temp from degF to degC involves having the dealer reprogram...lots of $$$$$. I wanted to change my L/100km to MPG but too much $$$$ for my liking. And I believe if you want to change to degC from degF that you need to put all of the units from imperial to metric, although I could be wrong. Again, this is all based on the MFD.

Switching between CDs, assuming you do not have NAV, you use the buttons under the radio display to toggle between CDs (buttons 3 and 4). To toggle between songs, the arrows up and down on the left side of the radio (single SEEK TRACK button).

Instant gas mileage to display a number instead of the green bar...I dont think you can do this.

These should all be clearly indicated in the manual. I would suggest using the index of your manual to find out what you are trying to do and give it another try. Some things are poorly explained (Homelink for one), but these ones are not too bad.

Hope this helps.

Dman1, thanks, I was able to change the clock very easily. I still have to try others functions....

I was surprised at how brief the owner's manual index is. I have to go back to the table of contents to find sections that might be relevant, and then flip them page for page to find what I am looking for.
