Back door will open with smart key but not close

Although the back door will open when any button is activated, when I try to close the back door using either the button on the dash, the button on the back door itself, or the smart key, I hear two quick beeps but the door does not close. Can anyone help?

There's a switch in the glovebox that controls the ability to open/close the rear hatch. Make sure it wasnt toggled by accident.

Thanks, I did check the button and it is set "on."

Don't know if reply #8 from this thread will help you out with your issue, but from memory it's the only thread I recall with an issue that resembles yours.

Thanks, I did see that response and tried the second smart key. It didn't work. I drove over to the dealer who tried to reset the key; check the button in the glove compartment; check the fuse; and disconnect and reconnect the battery. Nothing worked. As a result, the key will no longer even open the door. I've been told to make an appointment - it's an electrical problem. I appreciate your taking time to suggest a solution.

Make sure the button in the glove box is pressed IN
