I am considering purchasing a 2010 AWD Highlander. Due to a medical condition one prerequisite is that the BACK of the passenger seat must be heated - not just the squab. There seems to be some confusion with some Salesmen saying that only the Ltd has this option whilst others say that it is available on the Sports model as well. Can anyone here help me out. Note I live in Canada in case there is any difference between US and Canadian models
Thanks
I have a 2008 base model fwd with cloth seats and had hot seats put in before I took delivery , a local auto trim shop that is used by my dealership installed both front seats for $300. My wife had the drivers seat done at the same place in her 04 Camry Se when she bought it new and still works great! I turned the hot seat on and felt the size of the heated area and did not see any reason the HOT PAD could not be used on the back of the seat also. When its cold out outside it heats up quickly and makes my lower back feel Great. PS. Put 475 highway miles on this weekend @70 mph 4 adults and luggage and got 25.75 mpg .

I have a Canadian 08' Sport. The Sport comes with heated leather front seats standard. I know my drivers seat is heated in both the back and bottom I have limited experience with sitting in the passenger seat of my own vehicle. I will turn it on tomorrow and find out for you.

The heat is variable adjustable via the control knobs not just high/low only
In Canada Toyota offers a Leather upgrade package to the V6 4WD and to the Hybrid that includes heated leather and auto headlights. It appears that the leather upgrade package does not use the variable control knobs, instead it uses a high/low rocker switch mounted to the side of the seats.
This is the best picture I could find of it. The car is a brand new 2010 Highlander Hybrid with leather.

Went to Toyota's site today to look at this to double check things and guess what model is no longer listed? The Sport model which a salesman told me might happen when I was shopping for my Highlander.
So from memory I think any model you can get leather seats on, the heated option can be added.
I took a screenshot of the Toyota site for proof I'm not losing my mind.
