Accessory questions....

Please dont flame the newb...I searched several times but was looking for a list of part numbers for accessories for a 2010 LTD.

I've found a couple of the P/N's but was looking for an overall list??

Also, a question about the XM service.

My HL system is XM ready. I currently have a SIRIUS subscription though.

Is it possible to hook a Sirius receiver up to this or is the satellite ready system only ready for XM?

accessories

If you google 'toyota parts' or 'toyota accessories' you will get a ton of hits for dealer websites that sell the Toyota accessories at a discount. Most sites allow you to put in the year, make and model to see only the parts applicable to your vehicle (or that they carry). Most have the part numbers there, or sometimes you can add the part to your shopping cart and see the part number there.

I did this for several sites and put the part numbers and prices into an Excel spreadsheet when I was shopping around for parts. eBay is also an option once you have the p/n, just make sure they are new and unopened so that you aren't getting a part that doesn't work or is missing parts...

Also, there are a few threads here re: the satellite radio install, a very good one is here: How to: Sirius Radio installation. There are 2 parts you need whether you go with Sirius or XM - the receiver itself and the mount kit. As for installation, the factory instructions have you mount the receiver under the driver's seat; however, many have found that they can mount it behind the glovebox and also do it without having to remove the headunit...

Good luck!

Thank you so much for the kind response. I will try that right away.

On the mr2 owners club I'm a member of there are entire threads devoted to P/n's and I suppose I thought one might exist here. But then again, most vehicles in this forum are still under warranty so part shopping isnt as prevelant as it would be for an older car like the mr2.

Regarding the sirius receiver comments...

I suppose you cant use the XM prewire for sirius hookup then. I really wanted to be able to have the sirius info on my factory screen and not have to install a new sirius radio seperately. Oh well!

It is my understanding that you can hook up the factory Sirius receiver and fit kit to the factory headunit and it will work just fine, also, I believe that the existing 'sharkfin' antenna works with the Sirius receiver, but I don't think I have seen confirmation of this for a 2010... I have a 2010 Limited with JBL/Nav, and I am looking at Sirius as well...

FYI, I believe these are the part numbers you need for either Sirius or XM:

PT546-48090 - XM fit kit
86180-0W031 - XM receiver
or
PTS31-48080 - Sirius fit kit
PTS31-53060 - Sirius receiver

Good luck.

OK.

I just got off of the phone with Aaron at Partznet.com.
He informed me that with the Sirius kit (which I didnt even know existed) you can absolutely have Sirius on your factory NAVI screen.

As this is a factory Toyota part, a dealership should be able to install it for you.

HOWEVER....he also mentioned that the part has been discontinued and that it might be hard to find. He also mentioned that from what he has 'heard' Sirius and XM's billing addresses may be aligned in June/July and that this may mean that you will be able to get either Sirius or XM on whatever receiver you currently own.

That being said, you may want to call Sirius or XM to ask them about this. Being able to listen to Sirius channels on an XM reciever would be a huge advantage.

twm01, if you still have that spreadsheet list you can send it to me and I'll post it up to the DIY sticky.
