tpms can i program in both sets of wheels?

Hello,

I have an 09 highlander hybrid. I have winterwheels and tires with a separate tpms installed.
I thought that it would be a one time thing to have the new sensors programmed into the computer. The dealer has told me otherwise. They say that each season when I switch my wheels that they will have to charge me $75 bucks to program in the other set of wheels.

I think that is rediculous and I dont want to pay that twice a year, especially when I switch my wheels myself.

Is it true that I cant just program all of the wheels in so that it will just recognise whatever is on the vehicle?

If not, is there any other way to program them in cheaper.

If not is there a good/easy way to disable the stupid thing so that my display doesnt keep showing the tire pressure warning all the time. It is pretty annoying.

thanks for the help.

I didnt see this answered yet elsewhere so I dont think Im doing a repost...

Don't see why you can't hit the reset button each season yourself.

I believe there is something different with the Hybrid but cannot recall exactly what. I think perhaps it is that the Hybrid doesn't have a TPMS reset button. I recall reading that on previous posts regarding this question. I have an '09 HL Ltd non hybrid and the computer will only hold 5 serial numbers so when I switch to winter wheels, the 4 new ones have to be entered and then again when I switch back. I had the dealer take the winters off and the all seasons re-installed a few weeks ago and it cost me $38.50, including the reprogram. I let them do the work now because of the TPMS and because the manual also states that the hweel nuts have to be torqued to specific number. There is an older thread by Luck123 that describes a tool you can buy to program the serial numbers yourself.

Peter
