Exhaust tip for 2009 highlander

Hi to all! I wanted to install a stainless steel exhaust tip to my highlander and I'm just wondering if it is cheaper if I buy it online or through the dealer where i bought my highlander. I want a bolt-on type with no drilling or cutting required. Thanks and more power!

You can probably find aftermarket tips online cheaper, but that is only one man's opinion. Also just so you know, the OEM tip does NOT require drilling or cutting. It uses a clamp similar to the clamps used on water hoses.

If you decide to get one online make sure it has the new style clamp. The older ones broke causing the tip to fall off.

I have a tip in my garage that someone can have for free; you would just need to by a new clamp. It wss on my Highlander for about 10 months and I pulled it off once I noticed the clamp break off. The dealer gave me a new tip and clamp so I have no use for it. It looks pretty good as-is and would look really good if polished.

What's the diameter of the tips inlet? I measured the exhaust tip of my '09 HL the outlet is 3 1/4 " vertically and about 2 3/4" horizontally. I've seen some tips at the local stores but the widest they have is just slightly under 2 3/4".

I am interested if the exhaust tip is still available. Let me know and I will send you my address.

Thanks

Exhaust Tips

I have 2 new OEM Exhaust tips. One has the old clamp (which is fine), and the other has the brand new clamp. I pulled off the first tip right after I purchased my 2008 Highlander back in Nov 2007, as it did not fit with an aftermarket trailer hitch. When I just had my vehicle in for 4 recalls, they gave me another tip and the new clamp.

I'll sell the one with the new clamp for $35 + shipping and the one with the old clamp for $25 + shipping. I am in MA.

Andy

Not sure myself. But, my guess is that they slide on the existing tip and bolt/clamp on....
