Display Unit

Can a display unit be retrofitted into a 2008 base model? This is just the basic display unit, not the full nav module. This is what it shows when I search for the part:

Does the radio receiver have to be replaced to install a display unit?
Thanks!

See the thread by posted by jhunter9918, Can I get an MFD on a Highlander 10 Base model from the dealer? The MFD is controlled by buttons on the steering wheel. While it is an option that can be requested when ordering the vehicle, I don't know if it can be added after it has been built.

Thanks. Looks complicated as far as the factory display unit goes. The Nuvi option is intriguing, though.
