MFD: key battery warning

Many thanks to this forum. Two days ago the wife called me while she was 200 miles from home. Said that the car told her the battery in her fob was low.

Funny thing as I just changed out the battery in one of the fobs. Should have changed both since a purchased a five pack of Panasonic CR1632 3 Volt Lithium Coin Batteries for $6.75 delivered. (MYBATTERYSUPPLIER - Amazon.com).

The reason for the thank you? After searching this site, I learned the procedure for starting the cage with a dead key fob battery! Hold emblem side of fob next to start button...And I downloaded an owner's manual as she had the hard copy in the glove box.

So that saved her time and me money! As who knows what the charge would have been at a stealership. The shack of radios wants a fortune for one too!

In summary, it seems Lynn read the warning about the battery being weak from the Multi Functional Display. Is that correct? When she arrived home I asked her to point to where she read the warning.

P.S.: These newfangled cages are like programmable thermostats! As they are too confusing for the 'analog generation' aka women!

You are basically driving a computer on wheels! According to the Owner's Manual, a low battery in the key fob will result in 1 beep from the interior alarm along with a warning on the MFD.
