Rubber floor mats

I just took my 08 in for the pedal recall. The dealer reshaped the pedal and re-flash the ECU. I picked up my car and noticed my front driver and passenger side all weather mats were gone. Asked the service manager what happened to my mats. He disappeared for a while and came back and told me Toyota has a thinner replacement mats. I was a bit suspicious as I figured he would have known what happened to my mats. Did anyone get the "new" thinner all weather mats to replace their stock ones?

Also, I posted a thread a while ago about the uneven ride height between the right and left rear by about 3/8". Well, Toyota is going to get some factory dude to come out and look at it. I don't think it is normal at all.

I had this service done recently. They did not replace the factory matts (I keep these under the Weathertech matts we have), but did shave down the base of the gas pedal . They took the Weathertech matts and put them in the cargo area (kind of annoying as this is the second time they did this), and I just put them back on.

No, I had the factory weather mats that they took away, not an after market mats. I was just shocked that the service manager was not aware of it.

It has been two weeks since the dealer took away my floor mats. I called yesterday to inquire about when the replacement will be available. They said they are still not available. Also, I am still waiting for Toyota to send someone out to take a look at my uneven ride height.

If you mean this to be for the 'Brake Over-ride' program, I was advised that it was already on my '09 and I believe someone else also reported that their '08 already had it as well.

Yes, that is what I mean... Who told you it was already in '09? I don't remember anybody saying '08 or '09 already has it... Was not NA built 09 HL part of the sudden acceleration recall? I don't think that recall would have been issued if the "Brake-Override" was already there...

The Toyota service advisors. When I told them about the recall notice I received they said that in my case it only involved 'reshaping' the gas pedal to ensure it wouldn't get trapped by floor mats. I believe the poster of the '08 model that was told he also had it, was Canadian as well. It makes it appear that perhaps Toyota was aware of possible problems before it became a 'news' story. I believe it is something that will be automatically included with all vehicles Toyota manufactures.

My advisor told me it was not available for Highlander, not it was already there. The starter of the thread says his ECU was flashed

The poster of the 08 HL I am referring to is not the one who started this thread. The poster is mtc46jw. See 2008 Highlander Recall - Acceleration, posted by DCrosby on 04-23-2010. It should be on page 4. In it he lists a phone number that you can call and he was advised that all Canadian Highlanders have the 'Brake Over-ride' installed. I called and was told I already had it. And as I stated, that was confirmed by the Service Advisor when I took my HL in for the gas pedal 'reshaping'.
