How to program replacement smart key

I just purchased a replacement smart key on ebay for my 2009 Highlander and would like instructions on how to add the smart key to the car.

Thank you

I believe that one needs a TechTool to program these keys. A trip to the Stealership and they will take care of it for some big $ I suspect. I understand that there are 'aftermarket' versions of the TechTool out now so non-Stealership mechanics may have them. As I recall the TechTool was like $7K to buy a few years back.

I suggest that you call all the Stealerships in your area and see if any will give you a break to do the programming. I think you need to bring all the keys with you.

Yeap requires dealer setup and you need to bring all your keys with you

Seem to remember some keys bought off eBay were not able to be added to the owners HL. Hope you are the exception and the key you bought can be registered to your HL
